StartupGrind will hold it's September 'fireside chat' in one of the most creative and innovative space in Bucharest. Serban TIR is the C.T.O. of Gemini Solutions. Serban Tir has been a part of the Romanian IT community since 1996, at first as a techno/geek lover, then becoming an architect software, and later passing to the business side. Serban has an 18-year experience working with different companies in Silicon Valley, from start-ups to public companies. During this time he played various roles in the projects he was involved in, starting as a developer and reaching the position of Engineering Vice President. Besides the passion for technology and innovation, Serban is also actively involved in CSR projects and is very passionate about sports.

Our fireside chat events have three segments, typically an hour each:

18:00 -  19:00

The first hour we will serve food and drinks and help you make friends. You could say it’s networking, but we aim to make it much more than that! The StartupGrind Bucharest team will ensure your experience stands out from other events.

19:00 - 20:00

The second hour is for the interview with Serban and the Q&A time. We call it a fireside chat for a reason - it is meant to feel like an intimate conversation. Think of it as assisted storytelling, if you will. Because Serban is a Silicon Valley techie who commutes back and forth between Bucharest and Palo Alto, we will discuss about but not only:

1. Silicon Valley - the home of the Tech Entrepreneur;

2. Tech start-ups and the whole Silicon Valley environment around them;

3. Tech Innovation as a Life Style.

The final hour is another chance for you to connect with each other more and to meet the speaker.

Dani Dumitrescu is the Director of StartupGrind Bucharest.

With a Ph.D. in Cybernetics and Economic Statistics, over 18 years of experience in the financial field (banks, insurance, guarantee funds, commodities and stock exchanges, money transfer, NPLs, fin-tech and European funds), Daniel Dumitrescu worked in the last years as Financial Expert of the European Commission and Chief Executive Officer of the Romanian Commodities Exchange.
