With over 20 million people living in Chengdu in 2022 and strong economic growth of over 7.8% GPP p.a., Chengdu ranks among the top 3 cities to become the next Tier 1 city in China. Of course, part of this economic success comes from the active and vibrant startup culture in Chengdu. This May, we explore the female side of Chengdu's Startup Culture and have invited 3 amazing Founders on stage.
We start the fireside chats with Mrs. Raquel Ramirez Alexander, Founder of RR Consulting for Her and formal Sub-director in the United Nations Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico in the General Assembly and the UNESCO.
Next, we invite Mrs. Eve Ermichin, Commercial Consul of Israel Economic and Trade Mission to Southwest China, on stage to compare China's and Israel's startup cultures and what Chinese founders can learn from Tel Aviv's vibrant startup ecosystem.
Rounding up the celebrations, we are excited to welcome Mrs. Anita Shiwen Lai, Founder of SheLeads, on stage. Anita is one of the most active networkers in Chengdu and has changed the landscape for female founders in Chengdu like no other. Within the last 3 years, Anita, together with her team, has created a professional network for women in China called SheLeads, where mentorship programs, networking socials, and conferences are held to support one another with over 3.000 women professionals from 40 different industries.
Do not miss this energizing woman month edition of Startup Grind Chengdu on May 28th at 2pm (China Time), if you want to learn how to start your own business, find cofounders and network with like-minded people in person.
