Gregory Scott McComb is Chairman & CEO of Heartland Bank in Whitehall, Ohio. Heartland Bank Scott joined Heartland in 1999 after being an entrepreneur for over 10 years. His first position at Heartland Bank was Director of Internet Banking, charged with launching the first internet bank offering by a community bank in the Central Ohio area. Scott was then made part of the senior management team for Heartland Bank serving all divisions of the bank as Senior Vice President tasked with Customer Relationship Management. His next promotion was to EVP/COO in 2004, then President in 2008, CEO and Vice Chairman in 2009, Chairman of Heartland Bank and Heartland BancCorp in 2011, and Chairman & CEO of Heartland Bank in 2019.
Scott has a BA in Sociology from The Ohio State University, and he is a graduate of the Ohio School of Banking, the OBA Leadership Institute, and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Currently, Scott serves on the USO of Central and Southern Ohio Board as past chair, the CBAO Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and the ICBA (Independent Community Bankers Association of America) Board of Directors. He is also a board member of the Ohio Legal Defense Foundation, chairman of ICBA Bancard, chairman of the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus Investment Committee, board member of TCM Bank of Tampa, Florida, and a Board member of the James Foundation. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks and is a 33rd Degree Mason - the highest honor in that organization. In 2018, Scott was the winner of the large for-profit CEO of the Year award, selected by his peers, through Columbus CEO Magazine and Community Banker of the Year, Eastern Region by the Independent Community Bankers of America. He was also voted to the Columbus Business First Power 100 List in mid-2019. Scott resides in Blacklick, Ohio, with his wife of 28 years, Amy. Their daughter, Kailyn, joined Heartland in 2017 and represents the third generation of the family to serve Heartland Bank. Their son, Parker, is a PGA teaching professional on staff at Scioto Country Club.
