Matt Rutledge started Synapse Micro, a computer hardware distributor, in Dallas in 1994 at the age of 22 and grew the business to over 50 million in revenue over the following 10 years.
In 2004, Matt invented the daily deal site with the launch of Woot.com, grew the business to millions of customers and hundreds of millions in revenue, and was acquired by Amazon.com in 2010. After several years at Amazon, Matt left and is back in startup mode with Mediocre Laboratories, an umbrella entity to launch "experimental ecommerce" business models at future websites with a single sign-in. Some of the original Woot team have re-joined him as co-founders of what is truely A Mediocre Corporation. (mediocre.com)
