Gavin is a former guide dog mobility instructor turned award-winning, socially aware entrepreneur and CEO of Neatebox, an inclusive tech startup aiming to make society more equal by providing solutions to address the problems faced by people with disabilities on a daily basis.
Gavin founded Neatebox in 2011 to provide an easier and safer means for disabled individuals to cross the road with Button, the world’s first smartphone activated pedestrian crossing. Since its inception, the company has gone on to release award-winning App WelcoMe which aims to transform the interactions between disabled customers and service teams aiming to end ‘arrival anxiety’.
Neatebox has gained critical acclaim with a wide range of impressive accolades from being a Tech Nation Rising Stars competition winner to winning places on the illustrious WeWork UK and Google for Startups UK programmes. In the UK, the company counts RBS, Edinburgh Airport and NorthLink Ferries among its clients.
Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Gavin has also shifted to providing these tech solutions for both abled and disabled users as a means of helping venues and companies navigate the uncertain path that lockdown restrictions have presented.
Gavin is a passionate advocate of 'tech for good' and is a renowned champion of accessibility for all. With his wealth of experience in driving forward inclusion, diversity and tackling inequality we can expect to be inspired by his stories, expertise and insights, as we are driven to join the mission of 'levelling the playing field'.
