"There are no passengers on Spaceship Earth, we are all crew." - Marshall McLuhan Fighting Climate Change, Raising £1M+ & backed by Mike Berners-Lee & Brewdog w/ Christian Arno (Pawprint) With vaccine roll-outs bringing a healthy dose of optimism, we can start to dream of a post-covid world. But what does that mean for our next challenge, our climate? We'll be diving into: How to crowdfund £1M+ mid-pandemic, building a £10M+ revenue translation business & what it takes to get the backing of Brewdog and Mike Berners-Lee to help carbon footprint-related behavioural change. Notepads at the ready, knowledge bombs galore! Christian Arno (Pawprint) Christian Arno is the Founder & CEO of Pawprint. Pawprint will be an app-anchored community to help consumers understand and reduce their carbon footprints. It will be personalised, ongoing, social, and will seek to strike the right tone - friendly, informative and inspiring. Christian also founded Lingo24 and established operations in countries as diverse as Romania, Panama and the Philippine. He drove its growth to revenues in excess of $12m as CEO until 2018. His initial goal is to support a million people taking one tonne of CO2 off their annual Pawprints (that’s less than 10% for the average person) while also helping them to achieve other lifestyle goals - for example, saving money, eating more healthily and doing more exercise. [Host] Dec McLaughlin (SG Scotland/BackHug/DM Nutrition) Dec McLaughlin is the founder of DM Nutrition, a 'nutritionist in your pocket' that helps entrepreneurs lose up to 10kg, build 3-4kg+ muscle and 1/2 stress levels in as little as 90-days. He also works in Business Development for BackHug, the world's most personalised back care technology... at home. Their mission is to help bad backs across the globe. Since then, he has gone on to lead the restart of the Startup Grind Edinburgh chapter after a short period of inactivity. Speakers since 2018 include Gillian Docherty OBE (The Data Lab), Bruce Walker (FutureX) & Marta Krupinska (Head of Google for Startups UK).
