At Startup Grind Scotland we’ve loved being able to bring people together at our virtual events to share ideas, spark conversation and bring a sense of normality, and community, through the ups and downs of the last year and a half.

Viana developed and delivered the Career Coaching; Personal developed and Confidence building side of New Voices six-month mentoring and professional development programme for women and non-binary filmmakers based in Scotland who aspire to become documentary directors and/or producers. She is a Pass The Mic contributor, championing diverse female voices in the media and is two time Bright Red Spark Winner, including 2021 Business for Good.

Viana Maya is the Founder and CEO of pRESPECT, a career coaching startup focussed on mindset and employability support for marginalised jobseekers. Viana past experiences include a career as an entrepreneur in London, a web developer, a women returner getting back into work after the birth of her daughter as well as surviving homelessness.
She also works with AAI EmployAbility as a Diversity & Inclusion consultant, helping businesses to navigate those waters through COVID & BLM. Viana is also part of the New Voices initiative from Napier University showcasing Black Asian and Minority Ethnic creative talent.

AAI EmployAbility is an award-winning not-for-profit which supports the private, public and third sector to access graduate and returner talent of all ages, skillsets and backgrounds.
With a highly respected name, the AAI team offer tried, tested and flexible recruitment solutions from ad hoc, short-term projects, including internships and maternity leave, to permanent positions for growing businesses of all sizes. AAI supports both employers and graduates throughout placements and permanent employment, with any surplus used to support disadvantaged people struggling to enter the workforce. As well as inclusive employment services, AAI offers tailored CSR offerings for private sector businesses around the themes of gender and racial diversity, disability and supporting the third/voluntary sector.
