"I believe the manufacturing capability is reliable"
"I know they collaborate with entrepreneurs I am familiar with"
"I believe they have taken the time to understand and answer nagging questions"
These are just a few of the answers you should consider as a backer, as well as a startup looking to achieve crowdfunding goals. Building trust is the key to success!
It is one of many funding options that are appealing to entrepreneurs. One of the reasons we recommend backing Knocki is that their video and Kickstarter website answers many of our questions as experienced backers.
Unfortunately, backing crowdfunding products sometimes means being burned. Wouldn't you want to know more than "is their idea a good one?" Looking for specific factors that communicate their ability to create and ship the product is important. We particularly like how they chose to demonstrate their product, and find it believable that Knocki is easy to use, and not another painful thing to learn or be disappointed by.
Their web-produced video gives the confidence to trust in them. Through the video quality and shared content, we know creating it took time, effort, and resources. They answer many of the questions that surface when wanting to support a crowdfunded product.
Elements to keep in mind while creating or backing a crowdfunding campaign:
Give First (before you ask)
Make Friends (not just contacts)
Help Others (before you help yourself)
