Jeff Lawson is the founder and CEO of Twilio. A serial entrepreneur and a software developer, Jeff co-founded Twilio in 2008 to bring communications into the world of software. He is also the author of Ask Your Developer, a new playbook for unleashing the full potential of software developers in any organization, showing management how to unleash this workforce to enable growth, solve a wide range of business problems and drive digital transformation. Prior to Twilio, Jeff was co-founder & CTO of NineStar, founding CTO of Stubhub.com, and one of the first product managers for Amazon Web Services.
Harry (Jae Yong) Jang founded the company HALFZ in 2015. HALFZ offers a service that aggregates more than 1,000+ fashion e-commerce sites that carries 27,000+ fashion brand products on sale. Currently HALFZ is served in the form of Android/iOS and served in US only. HALFZ offices are located in heart of Seoul and also in NYC.
Harry began his career starting out as a consultant at a consultant firm, GALLUP KOREA. Then he made his way through as a marketing/PR agent at MY MUSIC TASTE which offered on demand concert platform. Later he moved onto a IT firm, FIRST FACE that specialized IT patents before he founded HALFZ.
George Arison is the Co-founder and Co-CEO of Shift, an online marketplace innovating the car sales industry. Previously, he co-founded Taxi Magic (now known as Curb), the first on-demand mobile transportation booking technology, and worked at Google and BCG. A Georgian immigrant, he was also the first student from the Soviet Union allowed to attend a private U.S. high school without a government sponsorship. He holds a BA in Political Science from Middlebury College.
Jean-Denis Greze is Chief Technology Officer at Plaid. He oversees Plaid’s global engineering, core product and security teams with over 300 engineers across North America and Europe, as well as Plaid’s core products. He leads the technical vision and infrastructure of Plaid, with a focus on delivering a secure and reliable platform that enables the fintech ecosystem to unlock financial freedom for everyone.
Prior to joining Plaid, Jean-Denis was Director of Engineering at Dropbox. Before that, Jean-Denis worked at a fintech in New York and holds a CS & MS degree from Columbia as well as a JD from Harvard Law School. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and son and has spent time all over the world including: Boston, Chicago, Lausanne (Switzerland), Los Angeles, New York City, Paris (France), Santiago (Chile), and Shanghai (China) over the last four decades.
Amandine is currently Head of Business Operations at Paystack, an online payments company based in Lagos, Nigeria, which helps merchants to collect payments from their customers.
Previously, Amandine was an investor at IFC (the private sector investment arm of the World Bank), where she invested in early stage FinTech companies in Sub-Saharan Africa. She was based in Washington, Lagos, and Johannesburg.
She started her career in investment banking, working in M&A for Morgan Stanley based in London and Johannesburg.
Amandine holds a BA in Business & Economics from Trinity College, Dublin, and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University.
Jameela Jackson is a bustling entrepreneur and media personality building community at the intersection of the tech & entertainment industries. The Los Angeles native grew up in Pasadena and balances life as a single parent and an accomplished PR & Brand strategist, speaker/moderator, and tech community leader.
Jameela has led the Hollywood chapter of Startup Grind for almost 5 years, working to bridge the gap between local entertainment and technology startup communities as well as provide resources for both the industry's aspiring entrepreneurs and creatives. As Director of the Hollywood chapter, she also moderates the chapter's monthly fireside chats, which features the business world’s most prominent thought-leaders, influencers and innovators. Prior to that, Jameela led a successful PR career in the entertainment industry–she has managed high-profile Publicity & Marketing campaigns and events for iconic brands like Disney, FOX, Sony, Toyota and more, as well as private events for celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Russell Simmons and more. Earlier on, she worked in the music industry and as a personal assistant for singer/songwriter Robin Thicke and actress Paula Patton.
