Startup Grind Lansing
As Co-Director of Startup Grind Lansing, Julie connects founders and entrepreneurs to the resources they need to launch and grow. As a consultant and coach, she has worked with a number of startups, helping to secure tens of thousands in funding to expand sales nationally and globally.
Her own path took her from an Emmy award-winning career as an Executive Producer in TV news to small business owner and successful entrepreneur, named one of Lansing’s “10 Over the Next Ten” by the Chamber of Commerce in 2017.
Julie launched her own agency full-time in 2018, growing mConnexions to six figures within six months.
During the Pandemic, she continued to scale her agency while locking arms with other entrepreneurs to help them weather the economic storm. Her Facebook live series, “Expert Connexions” became so popular that it launched as a TV show on the Lansing ABC station, where it aired following Good Morning America every Monday for a full year before going digital in 2022.
You can also catch Julie hosting a podcast for women, called Think Tank of Three, and leading the Legal Marketing Association’s Voices & Strategies digital content hub, as co-editor.
Ann Emmerich anchors the 5, 5:30, 6, & 11 pm news for WILX-TV 10.
A proud graduate of Central Michigan University, Ann has received several awards. She won an Emmy for a 2012 Investigative Report which revealed problems with Ingham County's 911 Consolidation. Ann's work has also been recognized by the Associated Press and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. In 2011, Ingham County Animal Shelter recognized Ann with a Humanitarian of the Year Award.
Ann is active in the Mid-Michigan community. She's served on the Board of Highfields, Inc., and is active with the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer," and the Tri-County Office on Aging.
Ann is the proud mother of three adult sons Edward, Daniel and Tom. She’s been married to her husband Tom for 33 years.
Bob Hoffman is living his dream! Bob is a community leader, motivational speaker, media expert and consistent goal achiever! He is active on several boards and organizations that have a similar purpose, to make the world a better place.
Bob says, “The simple act of doing something kind for someone else creates a vortex of positive energy.” He developed the Pass it Forward initiative called ePIFanynow™ that helps to show people they have the power to transform their lives through random acts of kindness.
At age 8, Bob realized his dream was to tell stories; good stories. His hero is New York Times best-selling author and television journalist, Bob Dotson. “Growing up, I couldn’t wait to watch ‘The American Story with Bob Dotson’ on the NBC Today show. Bob Dotson captivated me and solidified my love of story-telling.”
Bob has been actively setting and achieving his life goals. Along the way, he has learned valuable lessons and is ready to share them through his interactive, motivational leadership workshops. Bob will make you smile, laugh, and give insight into ways you can turn what is negative and make it positive. Bob believes you are what you think. Think good thoughts!
