Mr. Stacy Haitsuka is an accomplished entrepreneur, technologist and executive with over 20 years of experience who forever changed the technology industry with the introduction of the world’s first free Internet service provider—NetZero. His current venture is a music discovery platform called TuneGO, which recently launched a crowdfunding campaign (tunego.com/indiegogo). During his tenure at NetZero, Haitsuka served as chief technology officer, senior vice president of technology, and as board member. He provided critical leadership and direction at NetZero, filing and achieving numerous patents and growing the company to 1 million users in six months. He was instrumental in securing over $200 million in investment capital, signing multi- million dollar deals with General Motors, Qualcomm, and Compaq. Following the IPO, NetZero successfully acquired its largest competitor, Juno, resulting in the creation of United Online. The company’s range of products and services has evolved significantly since inception, primarily through a series of acquisitions, including Classmates Online, MyPoints and FTD Group, Inc. The company’s brands have attracted a large online audience that includes more than 60 million registered accounts. As a partner of Westlake Venture Partners, L.P., Haitsuka analyzed investment opportunities and helped portfolio companies with strategy and execution, public relations, marketing, management, financial modeling, capital raising and various other consolatory services. His unique career also includes founding Layer2Networks and IMPACT Software, and serving as chief information officer for Jambo Tech, Inc. Haitsuka has extensive experience creating technology strategies for Fortune 500 companies and large, enterprise-level IT departments, including Southern California Gas Company (Sempra Energy), IBM, Security Pacific Bank (Bank of America), and AirTouch (Verizon).
