Jose is a serial internet entrepreneur who has been building and growing companies for over 14 years. Previously, he was the founder and CEO of MailCreations.com, Inc., a successful online marketing and lead generation company. The company was profitable since its inception with revenues growing over 100% year over year. MailCreations.com was acquired by a publicly traded, Japanese Internet company in 2004. In 2007 he co-founded HealthCare.com, Inc., an online health information portal which later acquired BrokersWeb, a pay-per-click marketplace for insurance products and financial services. BrokersWeb was named the fastest growing company in the Insurance category by Inc. magazine two years in a row. In 2011 BrokersWeb was acquired by Los Angeles based Vantage Media. In 2012 Vargas co-founded BlueKite, a FinTech startup developing cross-border payments technology. Later, in 2014, BlueKite was acquired by San Francisco based Xoom Corporation NASDAQ [XOOM]. He is currently co-founder and board member of AutoWeb, Healthcare.com and PeopleFund, a venture capital and private equity holding company. PeopleFund has investments in e-commerce, online media, mobile apps, solar and nano-technologies.
