Christian Göttsch started out in the Internet at the very early stages of the industry. He held various leadership roles at global players like Microsoft, Bertelsmann, AOL, and CompuServe. He managed corporate headquarters positions as well as several field operations – but ultimately wanted to create his own business. He founded Experteer with the Mission to be the No 1 source for high-end positions trusted by candidates and recruiters. It operates a unique freemium business model, which monetizes both professionals and recruiters. Experteer launched in May 2006 and since then has grown into all European key markets and the US. It was funded by Holtzbrinck Ventures, e.ventures and Wellington Partners. In 2008 it was awarded “Top 25 Most Promising Companies“, in 2009 it was awarded “Fastest Growing Internet Companies” by Media Momentum, Red Herring, AO and White Bull. Since 2012 Experteer is financially independent.
