On the 1st of June 2017, Dr. Tanja zu Waldeck will take over her new role as Chief Operating Officer at BurdaForward GmbH, one of the most successful Publishing Companies in Germany. In this position she will be responsible for Finance, Business Intelligence, Strategy Implementation as well as Mergers and Acquisitions.

Dr. Tanja zu Waldeck started her career as a consultant at McKinsey and worked for 6 years in different business units, such as Consumer Goods, Pharma and Healthcare. By the time she expected her first daughter in 2007, she established a website called NetMoms, which is now one of the most successful platform for parents in Germany. In 2012, when the company was sold to BurdaForward (formerly TOMORROW FOCUS AG), Tanja zu Waldeck became a permanent part of the BurdaForward Management and took responsibility for the development of several digital websites such as FOCUS Online, Huffington Post and NetMoms. 

Currently she is one of the Managing Directors of BurdaForward Advertising, one of the most successful Advertising Companies in Germany. Alongside with Martin Lütgenau, Dr. Tanja zu Waldeck is responsible for the advertising sales business, where she is particularly focusing on the further development of the content marketing strategy.

Tanja was born in Warren, Michigan, USA, in 1978. She studied at WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, where she obtained a degree in business administration (Diplom-Kauffrau). She later obtained a PhD from the European Business School (EBS). 

Tanja was identified as one of the “100 Frauen von morgen” from the magazine Deutschland Land Der Ideen.
