Jochen is CEO and co-founder of FlixBus, a mobility provider offering daily intercity bus service all over Europe. Following his time in strategy consulting and PhD research on service pricing, Jochen launched FlixBus in 2013, after the deregulation of the German mobility market, providing consumers with a new means of transport, as “reliable and green” alternative to carpooling, railways and private cars. Far more than just another travel option, FlixBus is the successful combination of a tech-startup, an e-commerce-platform and a transportation company. The company was able to establish Europe's largest intercity bus network - not owning any buses, thereby revolutionising the bus travel industry. Before launching a company that has now grown to an international team of nearly 1,000 employees throughout Munich, Berlin, Paris, Milan and Zagreb, Jochen used to work as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, Porsche Consulting and Horváth & Partners. In his down time, Jochen is also supporting local startups with coaching and investments.
