After departing JetBlue, he served as CFO of Volotea, a Barcelona-based low cost airline, during its formative years, working in a small team to refine the business plan and financial model, select the appropriate aircraft, negotiate the aircraft leases and successfully raise 65 million Euros of equity financing. The airline commenced operations in April 2012. John holds a BA in Economics from SMU, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School where he was a Mayer Fellow.
