This April, AWS and Startup Grind are partnering to bring you Mentorship Month. Mentors provide helpful advice, support, and feedback throughout your startup journey – both during the high times and the low. 

Join your friends at Startup Grind NYC for a unique approach to a virtual fireside chat with Mat Kaliski, Principal at Rubicon Venture Capital, a generalist fund that invests in Late Seed and Series A rounds of enterprise and omni-channel consumer companies. Mat is passionate about building and mentoring a diverse and inclusive tech community, and he is also a co-organizer of Founders Friday and the founder of FirstGeneration VC, a community committed to supporting immigrant and first generation founders.

Hear from Mat about his passion for mentorship and what mentorship means in our personal lives and to our work. He'll also share his experience in building communities, especially for underrepresented founders, as well as how to prepare and position your startup for a fundraise once the markets re-open. You'll also learn how to build a community to support underrepresented founders in NYC.

Selected applicants will have the opportunity to participate in a one-on-one mentor session to get guidance on how to grow and develop your business and allow you to get first-hand advice from experts in your field. We offer 5 distinct mentoring tracks that you can choose from, including Fundraising, Product, Marketing, Sales, or Strategy & Ops, and you will get paired with an AWS expert in the field of your choice. All sessions are held remotely, and the program is completely free for all participants.
