Anya Ranganathan is the co-founder of Bad Apple Produce, an online grocery delivery service with a mission to strengthen the NYC metro area food system. Through partnerships with local suppliers, Bad Apple has recovered over 250,000 lbs of food at risk of going to waste and donated 50,000+ lbs to hunger relief organizations and educational non-profits. Since starting Bad Apple Produce, Anya has learned the value of "triple bottom line" business -- how to structure a venture that benefits community stakeholders rather than just generating profits. She's also a pro at carving out a niche in a competitive market, as well as the importance of pivoting products and services based on market feedback. Anya holds a BS in Economics from Duke University, where she led a team which won the $50K Grand Prize at the 18th Annual Duke Startup Challenge. She will begin pursuing her full time MBA at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Fall 2021.
