Nick Soman sold his first startup Reveal Chat to Rhapsody International last April after scaling to millions of users. Nick grew up in Seattle and studied at Stanford and then Harvard Business School, where he contracted Guillain Barre Syndrome, became completely paralyzed, and spent most of his second year in a hospital learning to walk, speak, and perform basic functions again.
After a year as a senior product manager on the Amazon Kindle, Nick founded Reveal, an anonymous chat app built to cure loneliness by giving you someone to talk to all the time. With a world-class team and prominent investors including Rudy Gadre, Microsoft Ventures and TechStars, Reveal ramped up growth to 50,000 new users per day and was showcased onstage at SXSW and on television by Star Trek icon George Takei before being acquired. Nick is now working on something new at Rhapsody, and experimenting on himself in writing at www.nicksoman.com.
