Geoff de Freitas is CEO of Middle Kingdom Media, the publisher of Shanghai Business Review magazine (SBR). Founded in 1994, SBR has become one of the leading English language business websites and magazines for managers at international companies operating in China. Geoff is an experienced entrepreneur who played lead roles in the development and sale of two publications prior to founding Middle Kingdom.

Geoff relocated to Shanghai from London, where he was the general manager of Europe for Newsco Publications, which published Business Insider. He was with the company for three years, and was part of the management team that saw the company acquired by Regional Independent Media, one of the UK’s largest Newspaper and magazine publishers. Geoff also worked in Hong Kong for five years, where he founded and ran the magazine Finance Asia, which he later sold to Thomson Reuters.

Geoff started his career in business publishing at Hemscot plc, at that time a private company where he was Managing Editor, Business and Finance, where he worked on such titles as The Treasurer, The London Business School Alumni magazine and Treasury Management International.
