Vincent Tao Dr Vincent (Chuang) Tao is a visionary, a serial entrepreneur and well-known investor with hands-on experiences in consumer Internet, mobile and media. He has successfully developed organizations in various culture environments both in China and North America. He is now Chairman of Global Earth (ZZ) group, a company whose mission is to develop a group of mobile internet companies via financing and incubation. Vincent has developed PPTV.com, the leading online TV provider in China with 300 million active users per month. As CEO of PPTV, Vincent has attracted over $700m VC investments into PPTV and built the world-class video cloud system based on its proprietary P2P-CDN architecture with over 400 data farms in China and worldwide. Vincent founded his first company, GeoTango in 2001 in Toronto and sold to Microsoft in 2005. GeoTango is the pioneer in internet 3D mapping where it was launched 2 years ahead of Google Earth. Prior to his entrepreneur venture, Vincent held Chair Professor position at York University, Toronto. He was recognized by his peers as a world-class expert in mapping.Vincent has authored and co-authored over 200 technical papers, and holds a number of technical patents.Vincent has received over a dozen of awards and distinctions for his achievements including 2014 China top 100 influential person, top 10 entrepreneur of the year 2013 by Ernst & Young, Top 100 China investor.Vincent had invaluable working experience in different organizations like Microsoft, PPTV, GeoTango, U.N and Universities.
