July 7th, Startup Grind Shenzhen hosts its first startup event in robot industry, presenting an overview of field through in-depth discussion and exploration of cutting-edge robot startups, understanding their challenges and ways to success.
Agile.X (Songling Robotics) is a startup company focusing on the design of outdoor general robot chassis. Its co-founder Jidong Wei used to be the innovation r&d manager of DJI, and he was also the NO.1 employee and co-founder of Robomaster, the national robot competition of DJI. The other founding members of ROBOCON are all senior product managers.
Generally, if companies independently design and develop chassis, they will often face the problem of long cycle and high cost. Agile.X has independently developed Scout, an outdoor general chassis designed for industrial applications. Aiming at market opportunities such as high price of customized products and the rise of low-speed unmanned cars, it has found its own entrepreneurial positioning. A wide range of rapid application scenarios, such as patrol and security, construction, agriculture, logistics, and efficient scientific research, have also enabled Agile.X to be recognized by also by venture capital. In July 2017, it was granted the angel round investment of millions of yuan from Lenovo star and other institutions.
Despite all the technical jargon, what kind of business is robotics? From technical breakthrough to stable mass production, how many key milestones should academic entrepreneurs pass? How to find the target market, how to win the favor of investors smoothly? As a group with highly technical background, how the founder breaks through himself and takes on the role of CEO, these are all topics that we want to talk about with founder Jidong Wei and CTO Yixuan Jiang in this activity.
