He has a passion for assisting individuals in creating a new venture, and offers unique insight into angel funding. Jon is in the process of launching North Carolina's first investment crowdfunding portal called Malartu Funds.
Malartu connects startups and small businesses with investors interested in their products. The platform is beginning to scale. Experiencing the problems with financing new ventures first hand led Jon and his partners to the development of Malartu, Irish Gaelic for "Exchange". The term summarizes the way in which he and his cofounders believe financing should take place for startups and small businesses alike, as an exchange of not only capital but of resources, ideas, and networks as well.
