We are excited to announce the presenter lineup for the new Tech Slam 'N Eggs event series, starting at 8am on May 5th. These will be pure tech demos - no pitches, financials, or b-school jargon. You may be trying to solve similar problems, or you may learn a novel way to use a familiar technology.

Mixxer Makerspace is a vital community asset where anyone can build anything. If you're an inventor, designer, or just have a crazy idea and have no idea how to pull it off, the members at Mixxer can help. Alan Shelton is committed to improving the lives of the people of Winston-Salem through education, skills training, access to tools, and building community. Learn how Mixxer has stepped up and helped to provide PPE to healthcare workers across North Carolina.

(Re)FÜL is a Winston-Salem born and bred startup focused on high endurance athletes. (Re)FÜL tracks real time biometric data from Garmin wearables, and along with 15 other sets of data, is able to tell an athlete when and what to eat, increasing performance and decreasing the likelihood of injury.

BatteryXchange is a Charlotte-based startup with deep ties to Winston-Salem. Cofounders Aubrey Yeboah and Desmond Wiggans, Jr., are proud WSSU Rams. Aubry and Desmond have worked tirelessly to build the company, and it shows. BatteryXchange has earned media attention across the region, raised a successful equity crowdfunding campaign, and won pitch competitions and entry into RIoT accelerator. What is a Tech Slam?

What: Live technology demos.

Who: We are connecting Technology Leaders and Innovators with Designers, Developers, and Builders of technology-driven software and hardware solutions.

When: We start at 7:30AM! That is a time of the day that is self-selecting. You can bet that people who attend are serious about the use of their time. No tire kickers!

Why: Because we need to convene our community, share our successes and focus on and support companies with high growth potential.

Qualifications:

• Working Demos Only

• Triad Focus (50 mile radius)

• All applying companies will be required to demo in advance of participation acceptance

We are focused on live demos, not Powerpoints. That means that the companies have crossed the “great divide” in startup land between having a concept and building a functional product.

Tech Slam 'N Eggs will be filled with people you have never met before. Bringing new people into the mix is a critical step in assuring growth and forward motion. But it is the quality of people that makes the greatest difference, such as technology leaders, accredited investors, and successful serial tech entrepreneurs. The quality of the connections is a real-time litmus test.

Our assumption is that our region has deep pockets of innovative technology and talent that can benefit from the cross pollination by bringing awareness, interest and visibility to data driven and product enabled solutions. We are encouraging organizations to seek local solutions, partner with each other to solve problems, and create a thriving tech startup economy.
