About this event

We are proud to announce Arndt Kwiatkowski (Founder Immobilienscout24 / Founder Bettermarks) as guest for our second event. Back in 1996, Arndt quit his job at Siemens-Nixdorf to build what would become one of the most successful German web companies — and within just a few years, ImmobilienScout24 had completely disrupted the real estate market. Last year, a 70% stake of the Scout24 group was sold for 1,5 billion euros. It was a hard and arduous path to achieve such success, particularly in the beginning, but Arndt gathered a fantastic team to realize his idea. Part of that founding team followed Arndt after he left Immobilienscout24 in 2008 to start his next company. Inspired by problems he had experienced in his own family, he founded Bettermarks, an online education service specialized in maths and tailored to the individual learner’s needs. We are excited to welcome Arndt on stage to share his story with us and look forward to learn more about the behind-the-scenes of one of Germany’s premier internet companies, ImmobilienScout24, as well as lessons learnt from his current endeavor, Bettermarks, which is currently disrupting the market of math education and helping solve one of the thorniest problems of our education system. The interview will be led by Christoph Raethke. Christoph has been working in the digital industry for over 17 years. He has run two semesters of the Founder Institute and is the founder of the Berlin Startup Academy — Berlin’s boutique, independent Startup Accelerator. In addition to that, Christoph is a frequent speaker at international events and renown for his critical and thought-provoking views. Our event takes place in the St. Oberholz apartments. As the central meeting point of Berlin's digital scene, there could be no better setting for our intimate “fireside chat” interview format. (The Interview will be conducted in german)
