With an annual loan volume of more than $1 billion and a total investment of $ 135 million, he developed smava to the leading marketplace for lending and one of best funded Fintechs in Germany. Smava was the first provider of p2p loans, loans with zero and negative interest rates and fully digitized and automated instant loans in Germany. In 2017, the volume of loans originated through smava was c. $1.5 billion, with a total of more than $3 billion since inception.
