At StartupGrind-MB, our team (of volunteers) have a desire to reconnect our neighbors together in sharing the successes, failures, and challenges of our community with the ultimate goal of building a stronger connection to each other. Zane has focused the latest direction in his career on launching a platform for executive and professional athlete coaching. We will dive into his motivation behind the new project and his philosophy in coaching and mentoring elite professionals.
Following 25 years in business at the NBA, NIKE and NASCAR, Zane advises executives, athletes, teams, companies and universities on career and business acceleration.
As a leading industry voice, Zane has been featured in dozens of major media outlets, including USA Today, Los Angeles Times, People magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Sports Illustrated, and on ESPN and FOX Sports, and has been a featured speaker at multiple business conferences, including for Variety, CSE, Sports Business Journal, and Octagon.
He has been a guest-lecturer at UCLA Anderson School of Management and University of Arizona Eller College of Management, and sits on multiple Advisory Boards, including for Nickelodeon and the University of Arizona Eller College of Management.
Zane led both the NBA and NASCAR's Los Angeles offices for a combined two decades, as well as roles with NIKE, an NBA team, and leading a joint venture as Partner/CEO with major record label Interscope/Geffen Records. He's been responsible for leading teams to 15 billion high strategic-value media impressions, $1 billion in media value, and eight-figure revenue.
Zane has led over 50 strategic marketing partnerships with major CPG, sports, entertainment and tech properties, and talent, including the NFL, Disney, Corona, Warner Bros., Miller-Coors, Universal, Netflix, BET, Univision, Buzzfeed, Walmart, Best Buy, and with Tom Cruise, Kevin Hart, Vince Vaughn, Adam Sandler and Channing Tatum.
