Adv. Pooja Terwad, is a founding partner at a full service law firm Pooja Terwad & Associates (PTA)

based out of Mumbai. She has completed her graduation from Mumbai University and her higher

education (LL.M) from O.P. Jindal Global University. She has successfully completed her second LL.M at

Maurer School of Law, Indiana University USA, while pursuing her LL.M. At the end of the course she

was presented a Gold Medal for academic performance and also for Leadership. She was recently

awarded a “Distinguished Alumni Award, 2019” by O.P. Jindal Global University.

Her law firm, Pooja Terwad and Associates, is the only start-up and SME focussed firm and has serviced

over 400 start-ups and mentored 3000+ start-ups in the last 4 years. She has been invited by several

government funded incubation centers to mentor and advise start-ups and Entrepreneurs. She closely

works with Andhra Pradesh , Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra government and assists them in rolling

out successful Entrepreneurship programs. Her goal is to create local employment by promoting

Entrepreneurship.

As a part of her law firm activity she has initiated a specialized wing, whereby complete legal and

business solutions are provided to Entrepreneurs to encourage innovation and nation building.

A passionate academician and a researcher, she is currently associated with multiple Entrepreneurship

Cells at academic institutions in Mumbai. As a part of her contribution to academics she is a visiting

faculty at NMIMS University School of Business, NMIMS School of Law and IIT Bombay. She teaches

courses around Entrepreneurship and Negotiation Skills.

She has previously worked with the Additional Solicitor General of India, Mumbai and handled crucial

matters like the Adarsh Scam Case, Mumbai Dumping Ground Case etc.

Ms. Terwad has also worked for consumer activism and was an invitee at Consumers International, a

world forum of consumer organizations at their Asia Pacific Office at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She often

engages in panel discussions aimed to educate the consumers and public in general. She has successfully

established a center for free consumer guidance and grievance redressal through which over 150

consumers are benefitted every week. A balanced technique of using law along with Alternate Dispute

Resolution is used to help consumers settle their disputes amicably and ultimately reduce the burden on

courts, which are flooded with undecided cases.

Her areas of interest for research and practice are Entrepreneurship & Law, Legal approaches to make

business and innovation simpler in India.
