Sowmya is a Founder and CEO of DViO Digital -- one of India's largest integrated marketing companies focused on digital transformation of brands and businesses. She is also start-up investor, Chief Mentor MAD-Tech Incubator DViO runs and TedX Speaker.
Her connect digital media started way back in the year 2002 at the age of 17 when she ran a youth portal called www.15to25.com
In the year 2007, she started Xebec Digital. Initially as division of a full service mainline advertising agency --XD soon became an independent fast growing digital marketing company.
As the organization grew into one of the largest independent digital marketing agencies – Sowmya bought over 100 % of the company from her partners and rebranded the company as DViO Digital.
Today, DViO serves six markets in three countries-- Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Dubai and Africa with over 130 digital media experts across offices in areas of digital content creation, digital videos, creative, mobile marketing, technology and media.
Under her leadership the organization today is recognized among the 10 featured agencies by Google India and also among the most innovative companies as listed by Silicon India.
She has been a consultant to over 100 businesses in the last 12 years.
She is a speaker at international conferences on topics concerning leadership, digital media, mobile and email marketing. Some platforms she speaks in include IAMAI, FICCI, Ministry of Commerce Events, Reputation Conclave etc.
She is trainer in leading management colleges and has contributed significantly in various strategic discussions on digital marketing for Government of India.
Marketing Incubator for Start-Ups
Sowmya also runs a marketing incubator for start-ups in ad, content and marketing technology. Her incubator currently houses five start-ups, and she intends to grow the portfolio to 25 + start-ups in the coming year.
This incubator is a unique initiative to connect brands with the innovation and value that start-ups have to offer, and has been seeing immense traction and value in the market.
Sowmya believes the future of advertising and marketing will be advertising and marketing that doesn’t look and feel like advertising and marketing. To this end she promotes digital first/YouTube talent and connects them with brands to create branded entertainment content that helps brands create impact and equity with their clients.
