Our mission is to send a delegation of eight or more Triad NC technology startups to the Startup Grind Global Conference in Redwood City California, February 12-13. It’s the biggest and best gathering of the year in Silicon Valley and attended by top executives and investors in the tech world. It’s a great way to promote our cities and region, to support the local startup community, and an easy a way for you to contribute to the effort. For our delegation, it will be an amazing immersion and transformative experience, making connections and finding new networks that could be the ticket to their success. By sending a delegation we will have more than a dozen representatives promoting our region and raising national awareness about the investments and great work our startup community and programs have achieved. To qualify to attend, each company in the delegation must have completed one of the local tech accelerator or incubation programs and be committed full-time to the launch of their startup. We’ve got a few open slots but here are some of the companies already committed that you can help send: B-Line Analytics - Mobility analytics for sustainable development and green building certification Benekiva - Bridging the gap between life insurance companies with their intended beneficiaries by beneficiary management and claims automation. Leading Role - Creators of Reality Port - a shared workspace that allows you to seamlessly collaborate and work within VR and AR on your own projects or with collaborators around the world. Neighborz, Inc. - A fun and convenient aggregator of restaurant menus making ordering easy with convenient curbside delivery. MotorCo Technologies, Inc. - Travel applications with immersive 360 - focused on the Visitor Bureau market to help cities sell conventions. One Donation - Driving corporate CSR and engagement through payroll integration of charitable giving, allowing employees to self direct their community mission. Rent Assured - Taking the uncertainty out of landlord / renter relations with verified move-in / move-out conditions and automated contracts. Wellnecity - Empowering employers with self-funded benefits to take control of their population data, provide analytics and insights, and drive down the cost of wellness and healthcare. This campaign is organized by the Flywheel Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit focused on supporting the development of the Triad’s startup community. All donations are tax-deductible. The Flywheel Foundation and Flywheel LLC supports Startup Grind City programs in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Davidson, and High Point, NC. The Triad region has made huge strides in creating a startup community. We now have accelerators (New Ventures, Creative Startups and Launch Greensboro) and incubation programs (Winston Starts, Venture Café and HP365) and investment capital ( New Ventures, First Launch Capital Fund, Venture South, Piedmont Angel Network and Dioko Fund) ready to support startups from inception through growth. The great news is that it’s working – and now we need your support to take these companies to the next level. Normally, attending the conference would cost our startups $5,000-$7,500, and that’s too expensive for companies at their stage. If we can raise our goal of $35,000, we can lower their attendance to $1,000 per company. Each company has committed to contribute $1,000 of their own funds and pay their own airfare, meals and lodging. As a community we need to cover the rest. Our goal of raising $35,000 will cover the cost of their exhibit hall tables and a sponsor table in the big tent for the region. The Startup Grind Global Conference provides an environment unlike anything else - where our community of startups, partners, investors, thought leaders, and worldwide directors come together for 2+ days of invaluable education, connection, and inspiration. We will take over the streets of Redwood City, stamped in the middle of Silicon Valley, surrounded by tech giants and startups alike. With 6 stages of highly educational content provided by a roster of world-class speakers, thousands of entrepreneurs and innovators looking to build relationships, hours of impactful networking and partner opportunities, and of course - parties. Whether you are looking for a co-founder, have just started your company, or are grinding and scaling by the minute, there’s something for everyone at Startup Grind.
