Where Are the Best Startup Job Opportunities Right Now? + Where to Hire Smart

Hey founders and job-seekers! I’ve been helping a few early-stage teams recently, and one thing keeps coming up: “Where do I find great talent, or great startup roles, without wasting weeks?” So I figured I’d kick off a thread to share what’s working and ask the same from you. 💼 Best Places I’ve Seen for Startup Hiring: Work at a Startup (via YC): Solid for technical hires and early-stage roles Wellfound (formerly AngelList Talent) : Still decent reach for generalist hires Pallet : Great for curated talent pools and newsletter-based job boards Remote OK and We Work Remotely : Strong for global roles Indie Hackers/X : Surprisingly good for founder-adjacent operators and devs Latitud Jobs : Awesome if you're hiring or looking within Latin America 👥 Let’s make this thread useful: Founders : Where have you found your best hires lately? Talent : Seen any awesome opportunities or lesser-known job boards? Looking for a co-founder or key hire? Drop a link or quick blurb below - would love to help surface it. Bonus tip: AI tools like Hireflow, Ashby, or just ChatGPT with a great prompt can help refine messaging and set expectations clearly (especially for async or remote-first roles). Let’s make it easier for great people to find great companies!!!

      Finding Startup Jobs Faster 🏃🏼‍♂️

One of the hardest things (whether you’re hunting for your next role or building your startup team) is cutting through the noise. The good news: there are some underrated platforms and tricks that actually work. Here are a few I’ve seen deliver results for both founders and job-seekers: 💼 Work at a Startup (YC) : great for early-stage tech and operator roles 🌍 Wellfound (ex AngelList) : still solid for generalists and founders looking for first hires 📩 Pallet : newsletter-based talent boards curated by operators/investors 🌐 Remote OK / We Work Remotely : strong for remote-first teams 🌎 Latitud Jobs : focused on Latin America, huge for startups hiring across the region 👥 Indie Hackers: surprisingly effective for finding founder-adjacent operators + engineers 🤖 AI Tools (Hireflow, Ashby, ChatGPT prompts) : speed up sourcing, filtering, and messaging Bonus hack: Create a simple “open-to-work landing page” with your projects + resume (Card, Notion, Github or Super work great). Then share it across LinkedIn, X, and startup communities - it travels fast!!! 👉 What’s worked for you? Drop your go-to platforms, hacks, or hidden gems below so others can learn from it

Competition vs. Collaboration: A Key to Success

Competition and Collaboration In the startup ecosystem—and not only there—businesses thrive only when they are truly sustainable. Like it or not, fierce competition is often the default setting. That’s why, after conducting over 2,000 recruiting interviews , every time I bring a new partner or teammate on board, I ask myself: 👉 What’s the right balance between collaboration and competition? From personal experience, one of the most critical success factors is a collaborative mindset and a genuine commitment to empowering others . Because let’s face it—the real competition is outside the team , not within it . This mindset means: Focusing time and energy on solving problems together Delivering results as a unified force Avoiding internal rivalries or wasting effort second-guessing each other 💡 When the focus stays on customers , partners , and future collaborators , progress becomes not only possible—but genuinely enjoyable . This approach has served us remarkably well for over a decade —especially in a community project where even brief remote check-ins were enough to stay aligned, and in-person meetings became something to genuinely look forward to. At the end of the day, competitions and challenges will come and go , but the relationships you build with your team can be lasting. #MakeFriendsnotContacts #TeamBuilding #TeamManagement #Partnership #Recruiting #PeopleFirst
